How MOTs Work at Tenkai Garage

If your MOT in Peterborough is due, Tenkai Garage can help. We don't carry out MOT tests on our own premises. Instead, your MOT is carried out by a trusted local partner, while our team looks after the servicing and any repairs your car needs.

Save With a Discounted MOT

When you book a Full or Major Service with us, you can add a discounted MOT. It's a simple way to keep your car roadworthy, look after its health, and save money in one go.

Repairs if Your Car Fails Its MOT

Fixing MOT failures is one of the main things we do. If your car doesn't pass its test, we can carry out the repairs needed to put things right. We work on all makes and models and have specialist knowledge of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and VAG vehicles.

• Common reasons cars fail their MOT include:

• Lights and indicators that aren't working

• Worn tyres or tyre damage

• Brake problems

• Suspension and steering faults

• Exhaust emissions above the legal limit

For diesel cars, high emissions can sometimes be linked to the Diesel Particulate Filter. We offer DPF cleaning, which can help improve performance and reduce emissions.

Simple Checks Before Your Annual Test

A few quick checks before your MOT can help you avoid an easy fail. Make sure all your lights work, your tyres have at least 1.6mm of tread, your wipers clear the screen properly, and your screenwash is topped up. It's also worth checking that no warning lights are showing on the dashboard.
